About Talma’s workNshop

— About—

My name is Talma Camerini and I was born in Italy in the early ’50s.

When I was a little girl, I often accompanied my parents to second-hand shops and flea markets.

We visited remote cities and towns throughout Italy. The visits were fascinating, and even then I was attracted to brightly colored objects, no matter how unusual and useless.

They reminded me of my father’s extravagant aunt, who used to surprise us with quickie visits wearing all kinds of colorful accessories.

Eventually, plastic jewelry and fashion accessories turned into a real passion, and at every opportunity I added more and more items to my collection – colorful bracelets, necklaces made of tiny dolls, boxes shaped as a leaf or a heart, and much more.

In the 1980s, I went to New York for the first time – what a wonderful land!

The markets were full of treasures just waiting for me.

Because of my work in high-tech, I traveled all around the world for years, spending my free-time dealing with my real passion:  Vintage jewelry.

During those trips I wandered in flea-markets and trade shops, seeking for unusual treasures, allowing me to build a huge collection of vintage costume jewelry, mainly in bakelite and other “plastics”.

Now the time is came to share The Plastic Fever with you ….

I have finally decided to dedicate my life to my real passion, The Plastic Fever, and I opened Talma’s shop & work,  right by the amazing sea shore, in a fine touristic area in Netanya, Israel.
